OverviewThe mission of the Agricultural Sector Education and Training Authority (AgriSETA) is to create and promote opportunities for social, economic and employment growth for agri-enterprises through relevant, quality and accessible education, training and development in both primary and secondary agriculture, in conjunction with other stakeholders in agriculture.
The SETA's objectives are to: develop the skills of the South African workforce in order to improve productivity in the workplace and the competitiveness of employers; increase the levels of investment in education and training in the labour market and increase the return on investment; use the workplace as an active learning environment to provide opportunities for new entrants to the labour market to gain work experience; and improve employment prospects of persons previously disadvantaged by unfair discrimination and redress those disadvantages through training and education.
