Overview

The Construction Education and Training Authority (CETA) is one of South Africa's Sector Education and Training Authorities (SETAs), established in terms of the Skills Development Act. CETA is responsible for facilitating skills development within the construction sector through education, training, and skills development initiatives. The organisation promotes workforce development by supporting learnerships, apprenticeships, skills programmes, and occupational qualifications aligned to industry needs.

As an accredited Education and Training Quality Assurance (ETQA) body, CETA oversees the accreditation and monitoring of training providers and learning programmes within its scope of responsibility. CETA works in partnership with employers, labour organisations, training providers, government institutions, and other stakeholders to address sector skills needs and contribute to economic growth and transformation. Funding is administered through mandatory and discretionary grants to support the achievement of national skills development priorities.
