Overview

South Cape TVET College (SCC) is a public Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institution serving the Garden Route, Kannaland and Central Karoo Districts in the Western Cape. Covering a catchment area of 80,822 km², it is the largest of the province's six TVET colleges. The College's Central Office and senior management are based in George.

Established in 2000 through the amalgamation of the George Technical College, Oudtshoorn Technical College, South Cape Technical Institute and Mossel Bay Technical College, South Cape TVET College was the pilot site for South Africa's TVET college mergers, which were subsequently implemented across the country from 2002.

In 2012, following the transition from Further Education and Training (FET) Colleges to Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Colleges, the institution adopted its current name. Between 2014 and 2016, the College migrated to the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET), aligning with national policies and governance frameworks.

Today, South Cape TVET College remains committed to delivering quality technical and vocational education, developing a skilled workforce and contributing to the socio-economic growth and sustainable development of the communities it serves.
