Overview
Supported Employment Enterprises (SEE) is an entity of the Department of Employment and Labour reporting to the Public Employment Services branch. The entity was established more than seven decades ago with the mandate to create employment for persons with disabilities who cannot secure employment in the labour market as a result of their disabilities.
Supported Employment Enterprises operates 13 factories across South Africa. Across these factories, SEE employs over 1000 people with disabilities. With adequate support through sales contracts, the factories have the potential to expand, creating employment opportunities for an additional 2000 persons with disabilities. The factories currently produce office furniture, school furniture, hospital linen, personal protective clothing and work wear.
